Mauritian food is Creole, Indian, Chinese and French arguing productively. The best of it is sold from a stall for under a hundred rupees.
Start with dholl puri. Then farata, gateaux piments, boulettes and a bol renverse. Sit-down restaurants are good but they are not where the island cooks best.
